Short Biography

Dr. Sabrina M. Elias is serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry, School of Life Sciences, independent university, Bangladesh, Dhaka. She has completed BSc Hons and MS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from University of Dhaka. She did her PhD in 2018 from University of Dhaka, in collaboration with University of Nebraska Lincoln, University of Texas at Austin and International Rice Research Institute as a fellow of Monsanto’s Beachelle Borlaug International Scholar Program (MBBISP). She has experience working on plant genome sequencing projects and her research mainly focuses on big data analysis, phenomics and genomics emphasizing plant salt tolerance. While working in Plant Biotechnology lab, University of Dhaka she has worked with rice salinity tolerance genes and their genetic engineering. She has a good number of peer reviewed publications and has experience in reviewing for journals. She is an active member of Global Network of Bangladeshi Biotechnologists.
