Short Biography:

Dr. Md. Fakruddin joined North South University in June 2021 with a wealth of knowledge and research experience in molecular microbiology, industrial biotechnology, bioinformatics and
stem cell biology. Currently, he is serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biochemistry & Microbiology under the School of Health & Life Sciences. Dr. Fakruddin
completed his B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. in Microbiology from the University of Dhaka and received Dean’s award from the Faculty of Biological Sciences, University of Dhaka. He joined
Industrial Microbiology Laboratory, Institute of Food Science and Technology (IFST), Bangladesh Council for Scientific and Industrial Research (BCSIR) as Scientific Officer in 2009.
Dr. Fakruddin received his Ph.D. degree from Graduate School of Medical Sciences, Kumamoto University in Molecular Physiology in 2017. He then moved to the International Research Center
for Medical Sciences (IRCMS), Kumamoto University for postdoctoral study on mitochondria- inflammation-microbiome interaction in normal and stressed hematopoiesis and was awarded
prestigious JSPS (Japan Society for Promotion of Sciences) post-doctoral fellowship in 2018. Dr. Fakruddin has coauthored numerous, high impact journal publications & conference articles and
received several awards and grants from various funding agencies both from home and abroad.
