for Early and Mid-Career Academics and Researchers

Call for Participants

Everything falls and rises on leadership.

Teaching or Research, nothing can be done alone. When we do things with other people, our performance depends on our leadership ability. Teaching and Research cannot be done alone. Hence teachers and researchers need to have an understanding and training in leadership. To improve the leadership ability of Bangladeshi Academics and Researchers, the Science Leadership working group of the National Young Academy of Bangladesh is going to organize an online workshop from 22 September to 4 November, 2023.

Applicants:

The Science Leadership working group of NYAB encourage application from the following group of people from Bangladesh and South Asian countries:

Scientists/Researchers of government and non-governmental organizations.
University Teachers.
College Teachers

Fields: The call is open to all Researchers/Academics having backgrounds in the Natural, Physical Sciences, Social sciences, and the Arts and Humanities.

Time and dates for the workshop: Selected potential Science leaders are expected to attend the online workshop on 22 September to 4 Noember 2023, from 7:00 – 9:00 PM Bangladesh Standard Time (UTC 13:00- 15:00). A few sessions might be shifted to adjust time with that of speakers from different time zone (Abroad).

Applications should be completed personally by the candidate in English. The questions can be answered spontaneously. Completing the application might take about 30 minutes or more; the form can be saved at any time and processed later.

Deadline for application: The application must be submitted by 15 September, 2023.

Fees: 1000.00 BDT (US$20)

7. Research Culture Development in The Laboratory And Research Institutes
8. Effective Problem-Solving and Decision-Making
9. Continuous Improvement, Creativity, And Innovation.
10. Stress Prevention and Management
11. Research Fund Management

Evaluation of participants:

The Science Leadership Working Group of NYAB will evaluate all potential participants based on i) the answer to the questions and ii) the given professional profile link. Then selected candidates will have to pay the money to the specified account by the specified date.

Diversity: Diversity will be maintained in terms of gender/ specialization/ institution.

Fees: Selected participants will have to pay BDT 1000.00. Fees for Non-Bangladeshi participants are USD 20.00

Certificates: A certificate of participation will be given to those who will participate in at least 80 % of sessions and quizzes.
